“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” - Ansel Adams

For the better part of two decades, I’ve been behind my camera, practicing the kind of humanist ethos that Ansel Adams extols. This emphasis on connection between photographer, subject, and viewer is a key component to my artistic process, allowing me to capture vivid, striking portraits and event photographs that evoke the raw emotion of early street photography and the sweeping cinematic compositions of the Hollywood Renaissance. With deep ties to the Tidewater area of Virginia, I endeavor to create beautiful images that reflect my home and the people who inhabit it.
